[News] Anniversary Symposium Recap

Kate Nolan, of The Arizona Republic, wrote an article on last night’s opening symposium for the 75th anniversary celebration of Frank Lloyd Wright’s apprenticeship program.

An audience member asked whether the Wright school wasn’t isolating itself by staying “up here on the hill? Is there any cross-pollination of ideas the way there is at a university?” he asked.

Rotondi [[a professor at Arizona State University] said he gets asked the same question, recently by a professor from a large university program.

“I asked him about his school. There’s not much cross-pollination of ideas at big schools. Look for people to teach who know as much about humanities as they do architecture, and I think it can happen at a place like this,” he said.
