The Westcott House in Springfield, Ohio is hosting an exhibit on Samara, a Usonian in Lafayette, Indiana:
This exhibition features the work of America’s most celebrated architect through an exciting collection of drawings depicting many of Wright’s most famous buildings as well as furnishings, textiles and other items designed for Samara, one of the late Usonian style homes by Wright. The exhibition can be viewed during the regular tours of the Westcott House, Wednesday through Sunday, and also at the Springfield Museum of Art, Tuesday through Sunday, February 13 through March 3, 2008.
Next week there are two special events scheduled: Thomas Heinz discussing Samara and a reception with the owner, Dr. John Christian.
Thomas Heinz: Friday, Feb. 22 at 7:00 “Frank Lloyd Wright’s Samara: Realization of a Usonian Dream”, part of the Centennial Lecture Series. tickets are $5 (free for members of the Westcott House Foundation and students with a valid ID)
Dr. John Christian: Saturday, Feb. 23 at 1:00. Tickets are $5, free for members of the Westcott House Foundation.
